  3. Add the beef and saute for a couple of minutes then pour the spice paste. Stir until the meat is covered.
  4. Pour coconut milk, tamarind water, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder and sugar. Stir until well combined. Cover and simmer on medium-low heat for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until meat has absorbed most of the liquid and meat is tender. Stir occasionally. Season with salt to taste.
